the Oude Kerk (Old Church), the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church),
Sint Nicolaaskerk (Basilica of St. Nicholas), Westerkerk (Western Church),
Mozes en Aäronkerk (Moses and Aaron Church) and Posthoornkerk (Post Horn Church).

Oude Kerk (Old Church)

The Oude Kerk is the oldest church and the oldest building in Amsterdam.
It dates back to about 1250 and is located in the Red Light District.
Today, the Oude Kerk frequently host s exhibitions and concerts.

Nieuwe Kerk (New Church)  

The Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) in Amsterdam is a 14th century late Gothic parish church. Located next to the Royal Palace,
the now Protestant church functions as the national church of the Netherlands, hosting inaugurations and special exhibitions.

Basilica of St. Nicholas 

The Basilica of St. Nicholas (Sint-Nicolaaskerk) is a Roman Catholic church in downtown Amsterdam.
The church, officially called Saint Nicholas within the Veste, was built in the period 1884-1887.

Western Church

The Western Church is the first Renaissance church in Amsterdam.
When it was built in 1631 it was the largest Protestant church in the world.
At 85 meters high the Westerkerk is the highest church in Amsterdam.

Moses and Aaron Church

The east of Waterlooplein is dominated by the twin spires of Moses and Aaron Church,
a Catholic church built in 1840 on the site of a secret chapel.
The church has the tablets of Moses and Aaron (brothers from the Old Testament) hanging on the wall.

Post Horn Church

The Post Horn Church is a transept basilica, meaning that the floor plan is laid out in the shape of a cross.
The church features a cloverleaf-shared choir and two tiers of galleries.
