Volendam was founded the 14th century, it began as a small settlement along the Zuiderzee in the municipality of Edam-Volendam, province of North Holland. Over time, it grew into a vibrant fishing village, attracting artists and tourists alike with its distinctive wooden houses and locals dressed in traditional clothing.
