Amsterdam has a number of beautiful, quiet parks where you can relax during the busy day. These well maintained parks provide some nature to both locals and Amsterdam tourism. The largest of them - Vondelpark is in the very centre of the city.
Vondelpark exists now for almost 150 years and has many old trees. Numerous bushes and herbs complete the park's landscape. Vondelpark is also a home to many large and small birds.
Sarphatipark
Sarphatipark has a playground, volleyball court, table tennis, grassy areas for relaxation and a large pond. There is a statue of Samuel Sarphati, Jewish doctor and philanthropist.
Oosterpark
Oosterpark has been a place for residents and visitors of Amsterdam East to relax, play sports and meet each other for over 100 years. Around the pond there are many nice places to sit and picnic. For children, there is a nature playground.
Beatrixpark
Beatrixpark is located in Amsterdam South, near the RAI. Beautiful walking and cycling routes run through Beatrix Park. There is a lot of art in the park.
Amstelpark
The Amstelpark is located in Amsterdam Zuid, between the Amstel and the Europaboulevard. There is a maze, a mini-golf course, a rosarium, an orangery, greenhouses, the Rhododendron Valley, a windmill, a city farm and a large playground.
Frankendael
Frankendael Park includes a botanical garden, a bird marsh, an amphibian pool, a nature playground, school gardens and the romantic Huize Frankendael ornamental garden.
