Giethoorn is found in the province of Overijssel, east of the Netherlands. Giethoorn, often called the "Venice of the Netherlands," is a charming village made up of small islands connected to the mainland by 176 bridges. On all these islands, thatched-roof houses (farmhouses) built in the 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved.
