World Museum (Wereldmuseum)

The World Museum Amsterdam (Wereldmuseum, formerly the Tropical Museum) is one of Amsterdam's most fascinating museums. It occupies a beautiful historic building, built in 1926. This ethnographic museum, whose history dates back to the Dutch colonial past, offers fascinating exhibits on many non-Western cultures.
The exhibitions themselves are spread over three floors (0, 1, 2) around the imposing Great Hall (Lichthal), which is the heart of the museum and used for events and activities.
